Charity Shops

We now have three Charity Shops for you!

Thanks to our fantastic volunteers and support of our customers, Ability Dogs 4 Young People now has three Charity Shops. Our original shop in Regent Street, Shanklin continues to stock interesting and varied items and it is joined over the road by our new shop occupying the old Auction House. In addition, we have a great new shop at 16 Pyle Street, Newport. All items have been donated for sale and all profits raised go to Ability Dogs 4 Young People - more details.

Friday 19th July, 1 pm until 2.30 pm - Northwood Primary School Fair, Northwood

School fair at Nortwood Primary School - there will be stalls and we will be there too with our dogs.

Friday 19th July, 3.30 pm until 6 pm - The Bay Primary School Fair, Sandown, PO36 9BA

School fair at The Bay Primary School, Sandown - there will be stalls and we will be there too with our dogs.

Sunday 21st July, 11 am until 5 pm - Ventnor Cricket Fair, Ventnor Cricket Ground

Come and enjoy Sunday at Ventnor Cricket Club, where our stand will have lots of different games for you to play, along with puppies for you to meet.

Thursday 25th July, time tbc - St. Blasius Church Fete, Shanklin, PO37 6QY

Fete at St. Blasius Church, Shanklin - there will be stalls and we will be there too with our dogs.

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July, 11 am until 5 pm - Daisy Chains Heroes Fair, Brading Roman Villa

There will be loads of characters to meet, a full arena of entertainment, stalls, food stands, rides and more. Go to https://www.facebook.com/events/342988253208894/ for more information. We will be there, so come and meet your heroes.

Thursday 1st August, afternoon - The Needles

Come to The Needles for a non-stop party of games, live music and street entertainment, with a spectacular pyrotechnic finale lighting up the skies. We will be there with our stand and some of our Ability Dog puppies in training.

Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August, all day - Chale Show, Chale Showground

The Chale Show offers something for everyone. Grown from just a village show, this popular summer event now attracts thousands of people annually. Children Under 16 are free and adults and seniors £10. We will be there with our stand and puppies to meet. For more information go to http://thechaleshow.co.uk/.

Sunday 11th August, 10 am until 5 pm - Jaguar Car Show, Sandown Airport, PO36 0JP

Come and see hundreds of cars plus lots of stands, including our own, with games, merchandise and puppies. There's plenty of entertainment and activities for children.

Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August, all day - Garlic Festival Fighting Cocks Crossroads, Bathingbourne Lane, Sandown

The IOW Garlic Festival 2019 promises to be one of the most incredible yet. There will be lots of garlic, plus plenty of cookery demonstrations. You can even try some garlic fudge! There will also be plenty of different stands to visit, including ours.

Tuesday 20th August, 3 pm until 5 pm - Yarmouth Carnival and Regatta, Yarmouth

Join us in Yarmouth for their 109th Yarmouth Carnival and Regatta. You can see a demonstration by one of our Team Ability Dogs as well as take part in the dog show.

Saturday 24th August, 1 pm until 5pm - Elvis Donkey Sanctuary Fair, Porchfield Cricket Club, Porchfield

Fund raising fair at Porchfield Cricket Club in aid of the Donkey Sanctuary - there will be stalls and we will be there too with our dogs.

Sunday 25th August, 12 noon until 4 pm - Shanklin CC Fete, Shanklin Cricket Ground

Another great family day out and a chance to support us and meet some of our Ability Dog puppies in training. We will have plenty of games for you to play on our stand.

Monday 26th August, 2 pm until 4.30 pm - Shalfleet Fete, Shalfleet Village Field

Come and see us on our stand at the Shalfleet Church Fete. As always, there will be lots to do for all the family.

Saturday 31st August & Sunday 1st September, 10 am until 5 pm - Garden Fair, Wolverton Manor

This year's Garden Fair at Wolverton Manor is celebrating it's 20th Year! There will be over 140 amazing Island & mainland nurseries, garden & craft stalls. Classic cars, elizabethan dancing, dog agility displays & shows. Tractors, military vehicles, vintage amusements, airsoft shooting, falconry, kayaking around the moat, climbing wall, woodcarvers and lots more!

We will be there in the midst of things with our stand and our 'Wolverton Special' Bottle Tombola raising money for Ability Dogs 4 Young People IoW. On the top field we will also be giving demonstrations showing how Ability Dogs can help disabled young people and children. Do come along and say hello.

Funds raised by the Wolverton Manor Garden Fair go to Age UK and stay on the Island to support local older people to live happy, healthy and connected lives. For more information including advanced tickets, visit the website at https://gardenfair.org.uk/

Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th September, all day - Sweetcorn Fair, Arreton Barns, PO30 3AA

We will again be attending the Sweetcorn Fair this year. There's live music a real ale festival and everything sweetcorn related! We will have our stand with merchandise, games and puppies.

Wednesday 6th November, 8 pm - Mermaid Bar Quiz, Mermaid Bar, Nettlestone

Another fun Charity Quiz Night hosted by the Mermaid Gin team in aid of Ability Dogs 4 Young People and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Amulance. Teams up to 6 people, £2 per person with questions starting at 8 pm. Our Ability Dog puppies in training will be there to cheer you on, so do come along to the Mermaid Bar which is a perfect venue to enjoy a hand crafted gin and is located in the pretty village of Pondwell. Mermaid gin is smooth and refreshing with a citrus zing, deep round mouth feel, long finish with a hint of sea air.
